Journal Three
Im really liking the structure of this book so far. I have never read another book like it. I love how it uses the interviews to tell the story's. I think the strength comes from the use of other peoples real stories of their life. I don't think there is a better way of gathering information about people or a person by talking directly to them. You really get that since of emotion and how they really feel. I fi had to pick a weakness in this book so far I would say that maybe make who is talking a litter more clear and I don't thin k thats really a big deal but there isn't really anything I hate about the book. The strategy that I have been using the most is probably putting little notes beside the reading when something happens to pop out at me. If I come across something funny or a peace if information that I find interesting a make little notes beside where I read it.If there was something that I found that I could relate to in Holding On it would have to be Steam Train. I never came from a broken home but I have also felt at times in my life that just leaving and making something of myself would be the right choice. I never ran away but I think that several people have had hard times in their life that made them feel like just getting away from it all would improve the way they live. I love that he had the courage to leave at such an young age and even though he was a hobo he lived a life that he was proud of and he was happy. I think that is what we all strive to do, just .live a life that makes you happy. He could have worked a 9-5 the rest of his life but he made a choice that he was going to do what he wanted to do not what society says you have to do and thats really brave.
